BHOPAL: The Vishwa Hindu Parishad ( VHP) and Bajarang Dal have come out in support of self- styled godman Asaram Bapu to protect his ashrams in the state. The saffron organisations have threatened that if ashrams of Asharam Bapu are demolished in any part of the state, they will launch an agitation.
In Bhopal, the activists took out a vehicular rally cautioning the district administration and Bhopal Municipal Corporation ( BMC) that if ashrams are demolished, agitation will be intensified. News was rife in the media that district administration and BMC will demolish the Asharam Bapu’s ashram in the city. The rally was taken out from Bergarh Ashram and wended through all over the city before culminating at Chhola.
State convener of Bajarang Dal Kamlesh Thakur, talking to Free Press, said, ” We took out a vehicular rally to protest the possible move of the district administration taking initiatives to demolish ashram of spiritual leader Asharam Bapu, we will protest and launch the agitation against it.” He said, ” We have also appealed the youths to honour the parents on Valentine’s Day on February 14. There was two objectives behind taking out vehicular rally in the city. First to register protest against demolition of ashram and second to protest against celebration of Valentine’ss Day”.
