Udupi, 11 Dec 2013: Vishwa Hindu Parishat (VHP) completes 50 years in 2014. It has never been against any religion. Its core objectives are to preserve ancient religion, Indian cultural hierarchy, to create general awareness on virtues of Hinduism, wage struggle against cow slaughter, conversions and terrorism, educate masses on cultural upbringing, said Udupi district VHP president Baikady Suprasad Shetty.
Shetty was speaking after inaugurating the newly-built the late Belle Kamalaksha Senoy – Shirva memorial bus stand at Shivagiri colony, Pamboor, Padubelle, near here on Monday December 9. The philanthropist the late Kamalaksha was the inspiration to set up VHP unit in Padubelle.
Shetty called on the gathering to unite for protecting the nation and the religion. The golden jubilee year of 2014 will become national reformation year, said Shetty.
Padubelle – Mahalingeshwar temple chief priest Madwaraj Bhat in his introductory address lauded the philanthropist activities of the late Kamalaksha in his life time.
Udupi TP former president K Devdas Hebbar, senior teacher B Pundalika Marate Shirva, Kamalaksha Shenoy’s wife Vanita Shenoy, Bajrang Dal Udupi district convener Sunil K R were present on the dais.
Padubelle – Mahalingeshwar temple managing trustee Belle Doddamane Subaschandra Shetty presided the function.
Belle gram panchayat member Sunita Shetty, Belle gram panchayat former president Sasidar Wagle, Belle Sadanand Shenoy, Leslie Alva, panchayt member Leena Noronha, Raghavendra Shetty, Santosh Kulal, B Bhaskar Shetty, Parashuram Bhat, Shankar Achar and Laxminarayan Upadhyaya were present.
Padubelle VHP founder president Belle Doddamane Ajit Shetty compered the programme. Founder secretary Srisha Samaga proposed vote of thanks.
