USHA Condemns the Attack on Former President Donald Trump and Pray for His Speedy Recovery

Atlanta, GA: The United States Hindu Alliance (USHA) and Hindus around the country strongly condemn the attempted assassination of Donald Trump, former President of the United States. We congratulate the members of the US Secret Service for their swift and courageous action to protect the former President.

President Trump was holding a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania today when multiple shots were fired at the former President and others present at the stage. He was immediately removed from the scene by US Secret Service Agents and rushed to a safety.

“We pray for the speedy recovery of President Trump and others who were injured at today’s campaign rally. Violence and democracy cannot go hand in hand. The United States government has a constitutional obligation to protect both presidential candidates from potential threats of violence. Given the degree of political polarization in the country today and easy access to guns, improved security arrangements should be put in place for the safety of candidates and their supporters”, said Gokul Kunnath, President of USHA.

USHA is a grass roots, non-partisan, advocacy organization of Hindus in America to protect and promote the interests of Hindus worldwide. It strives to foster good relations with all sections of humanity through a variety of projects, events, and initiatives. For more information, visit www.ushaonline.org
