Two Kiwis have been invited by the World Hindu Foundation to be on the organizing team of the first World Hindu Congress to be held on 21-23 November 2014 in New Delhi, Bharat Prof Guna Magesan, General Secretary of Hindu Council of New Zealand and a community leader from Rotorua, has been invited to coordinate Hindu Organizational Conference.
The primary goal is to provide a platform for the Hindu organizations, associations and institutions that are nobly working to serve Hindu society in their individual capacities.
Pritika Sharma, Joint General Secretary of Hindu Council and Youth Leader from Auckland, has been invited to coordinate Hindu Youth Conference. The primary goal of the Hindu Youth Conference is to provide a platform to Hindu Students and Youth from all over the world to discuss problems confronting Hindu society and formulate solutions to those challenges.
The theme envisioned for the World Hindu Congress is the Hindu principle of Sangachchhadhwam Samvadadhwam, which means “Step together, Express together”.
We invite the leaders and representatives of various Hindu organizations, temples and associations to World Hindu Congress. This includes people of accomplishment and achievement: academicians, managing trustees, vice chancellors, prominent industrialists and business people, community leaders, parliamentarians, and media personalities.
The congress aims to take the movement for Hindu solidarity to the next level.
“This task needs to be undertaken with a single minded focus of rebuilding the spiritual and material heritage of Hindus,” said Swami Vigyananand.
While the first World Hindu Congress is primarily organized by the World Hindu Foundation, all Hindu organizations, associations and institutions from around the world are encouraged to participate and are most welcome to become partners in making this event great success.
Under the World Hindu Congress, there will be seven conferences held: Hindu Economic Conference; Hindu Youth Conference; Hindu Women Conference; Hindu Educational Conference; Hindu Organizational Conference; Hindu Political Conference; and Hindu Media Conference.
