There were two fires in the open at the Apple Tree Centre in Ifield Avenue, Crawley, last night (Sunday March 16).
The Gurjar Hindu Union was celebrating the Festival of Holi – an annual religious celebration which includes the lighting of bonfires.
Crawley firefighters were called at 8.20pm to a fire in the open and were there for 20 minutes. Then at 9.50pm they were called again for the same reason.
That time, they were there for 10 minutes.
