MEERUT: Two days after Donald Trump took charge as the 45th president of the United States of America (USA), members of Akhil Bharatiya Hindu Mahasabha conducted a hawan to wish him luck. The hawan was conducted at their office on Sharda road in Meerut on Sunday. The members also sent a picture of Trump with a ’tilak’ to his office via fax.

Speaking to TOI, Ashok Sharma, national vice president, Hindu Mahasabha, said, “The thinking and political policies of Donald Trump bear a striking resemblance with that of Nathuram Godse. Now that Trump has come to power, all of us hope that the dream of Godse to make ‘Akhand Bharat’ gets fulfilled. Also, Trump’s take on radical Islamism, we are sure that world peace will prevail.” The outfit had previously prayed for Trump’s victory in the elections.
