In order to make the state load-shedding free during the festival of Diwali, like festivities of Durga Puja, Tripura State Electricity Corporation Limited (TSECL) also geared up with all necessary arrangements to make the state load-shedding free during the festival of lights. TSECL sources said that the Matabari complex and entire Udaipur town has already been a load-shedding free zone from Friday and till the observation of the Diwali festival the Udaipur town will remain load-shedding free. Apart from Udaipur town, the capital city of Agartala and some other sub-divisional town like Dharmanagar will also be load-shedding free zone during the festival of lights. TSECL added that on Friday Tripura recorded power demand of 208 MW, among the supplied power state’s own generation was 109 MW and 80 MW power imported from central pool and from NEEPCO. To fulfill the deficit power of 19 MW, a minimum period of load-shedding were conducted in some parts of the state. However, on Friday the ONGC-Tripura Palatana Power Company (OTPC) generated 180 MW of power, among the total generated power the gas turbine generated 100 MW and steam turbine generated 80 MW power. |
