Mango Festival, Macoya Market

 Organised by the Network of Rural Women Producers of Trinidad and Tobago, the annual Mango Festival showcases a wide variety of locally-grown​ mangoes and mango products.

St. Peter’s Day in the coastal village of Carenage

St. Peter’s Day is a celebration of the birthday of the Biblical fisherman, Saint Peter (July 29), as well as of all fishermen the world over. The festival is marked by a special service in the church and a market fair in the churchyard, but the highlight is a street procession leading to the blessing of the boats and the fishermen by a Roman Catholic priest in the sea.

Film screening at UWI Film Programme Building

 The documentary film produced by Gideon Hanomansingh, titled From Calcutta to the Caribbean: An Indian Journey, was first screened at this year’s Cannes Film Festival in France.
