THE FO GUANG Shan Chu Un Temple is one of 300 temples of Fo Guang Shan (FGS) Buddhist Temple, which celebrates 50 years of spreading the Dharma from its headquarters in Kaohsiung, Taiwan.

Aside from its temples, FGS has about 1,300 monastics and thousands of members known as Buddha’s Light International (BLIA), making it one of biggest and most established Mahayana Buddhist sect in the world to date.

FGS’ golden journey is made possible by the vision of its founder, the Venerable Master Hsing Yun, who shared with the BLIA members his goals to propagate the Dharma through culture, nurture their talents through education, contribute to the good of society through charity and purify human hearts and minds through cultivation.

In Cebu City, Fo Guang Shan Chu Un Temple marks its 27th year through various activities, including the Siddhartha the Musical, which is now on its 10th year; the Three Acts of Goodness Campaign (Do Good Deeds, Say Good Words and Think Good Thoughts); Dharma services in English and Chinese; meditation; and Chinese New Year festivities.

A serene atmosphere pervades the Fo Guang Shan Chu Un Temple.
