Sadhvis congregating in city for Simhastha mela

Ujjain : Conference of Akhil Bharatiya Sadhwi Parishad (ABSP) will be held here in the city on April 13.  Sadhwirs and Sanyasinis have already started to settle in the city for Simhastha mela, and even a whole new Sanyasini akhara of Juna akhara is functioning for the mela.

Union Ministers Uma Bharti and Niranjan Jyoti are said to be the chief guests of the conference. The conference would be a big event for the BJP led government as it will serve as a direct platform to connect the womenfolk to Simhastha mela. Preparations for the conference have already started by the functionaries.  The ABSP is a sub division of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and works mostly in the akharas and saints community. President ABSP Santoshi Mata, a Sanyasini of Niranjani akhara will also participate in the pre-Simhastha exercise.

Shri Mahant Vibhananda Giri of Avahan akhara, who is also the vice-president of ABSP, told Free Press that the conference will be held on April 13, and around 1 lakh Sadhwis from across the countries will participate in it. Giri said the women from ancient times were at the apex in the Sanatan Dharma and now they are also leading in modern times. The conference will discuss upon the downfall of Sanatan Dharma and role of women power in religion. The Sadhwi said Union Minister Sadhwi Niranjan Bharti has given her nod to participate in the conference, while Minister Uma Bharti is yet to confirm. Maha Mandleshwar Hemananda Saraswati said the preparations for conference have already started and the camps are being set in on the Barnagar road.
