The Bengal unit of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) will be organising a relief collection drive throughout the State from Wednesday till May 2 in aid of the earthquake victims in Nepal, a release said on Tuesday.
“The RSS and all like-minded organisations will participate in the collection drive under the leadership of ‘Vastuhara Sahayata Samity’. Blankets, new garments and money will be collected. Swayamsevaks will collect relief materials and funds from houses, market places and streets. Corporate houses will also be approached for the support,” the release stated.
According to the release, the RSS is actively involved in rescue and relief operations in Nepal. Senior RSS leader Dattatreya Hosbole has been organising the activities with the help of Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh since his arrival there on Sunday.
