RSS to hold two-day All India women’s meet in Ahmedabad from Saturday

rssThe Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has organized a two-day “All India Bharatiya Mahila Samanvay Baithak”, a camp and workshop for women beginning September 12 at Pirana, located in the outskirts of Ahmedabad. About 300 women are expected to participate in the event and Gujarat chief minister Anandiben Patel will also be present during the inaugural ceremony.

According to the organisers, the event is being held after a gap of after 15 years when it had organised a similar event and the agenda of the workshop was on economy. This year the topic will be Bal Vikas-Avdharna, Sangh Sthiti, chunautiyan ane samadhan (Child development- perception, stand of Sangh, challenges and solutions).

Gujarat RSS chief Mukesh Malkan said that the event is only a gathering of women members who will be discussing regarding social changes in India. He further said that there will be discussion on what how to bring social changes and women participants will decide how to go about it.

RSS sister organisations and Sangh inspired women organizations will also be participating in the event. Senior RSS members Krishna Gopal, Anirudh Deshpande and All India Mahila Samanvay convenor Gitatai Gunde among others will be present in the event.

The camp has been organized at Prernatirth, a RSS affiliated school, which is close to a famous 600 years old sufi shrine where Hindus and Muslim offer prayers. The site of the shrine has been controversial for the past two decades with allegations of saffronising the shrine.

Earlier in January this year, the RSS had held a mega camp in Ahmedabad where thousands of active members of Gujarat had participated. It was one of the biggest gatherings of the RSS members after a gap of 15 years. The RSS had claimed that the national meet was the second on this scale in Gujarat after 2000 when the Atal Bihari Vajpayee-led NDA government was at the Centre.
