Nagaur, Rajasthan March 13, 2016: In a major morphological change within the organisation, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) today announced the change in Ganavesh (Uniform) from its traditional Khakhi Shorts to Wood Brown or also called ‘Coffee Coloured’ Trousers or Long Pants (Covering from the waist to the ankles).
The announcement was made by RSS Sarakaryavah Suresh Bhaiyyaji Joshi at the press conference at the Akhil Bharatiya Pratinidhi Sabha (ABPS) at Nagaur, Rajasthan.
“Samaanya jeevan mein full-pants chalti hai to humne usko sweekar kia. Hum samaaj ke saath chalne wale log hain. Trousers are more common in normal life. We are people who move with times. So we had no hesitation (change in dress code). ” said Suresh Bhaiyyaji Joshi.
“Sangh ka pahchan nikkar ka nahi. As far as the physical training is concerned the design has been made with that point also in mind. ” said Bhaiyyaji.
Reacting to the statement of Gulam Nabi Azad to compare RSS with the ISIS, RSS Sarakaryavah Bhaiyyaji said “It shows his Ajnan (Lack of common sense).”
So far RSS Swayamsevaks had their Ganavesh as khaki shorts with grey belt and white full- sleeve shirts folded up to the elbow, with black caps on head, black lased shoes with khaki socks.
