New Delhi: The registration for this year’s Amarnath Yatra, which will begin on 2nd July, has started and permission for undertaking the pilgrimage will be given on first-come-first-serve basis.
Designated branches of Punjab National Bank, J&K Bank and YES Bank across the country will register pilgrims.
One permit will be valid for one person only and each bank branch has been allotted a fixed per day, per route quota for registering pilgrims.
“No one below the age of 13 years or above 75 years and no woman with more than six week’s pregnancy shall be registered for the pilgrimage,” an official release said.
Every pilgrim will have to submit the application form and the Compulsory Health Certificate (CHC) to obtain the permit for the pilgrimage, it said.
The formats of the application form and CHC, and the list of doctors/medical institutions authorised to issue CHC are available on the shrine board’s website – www.shriamarnathjishrine.com.
“Pre-paid SIM cards from other states shall not work in Jammu and Kashmir and Yatra area. Pilgrims can purchase pre- activated SIM cards at the Base Camps of Baltal and Nunwan.
Women pilgrims must not wear sarees during the Yatra. Salwar Kameez, pant-shirt or a track suit is advisable,” it said.
