AGRA: On the occasion of 23rd anniversary of the Babri mosque demolition on Sunday, Vishwa Hindu Parishad claimed that the country will celebrate the 25th ‘Shaurya Diwas’ (valour day) inside Ram Lalla temple in Ayodhya.

VHP’s national spokesperson Vinod Bansal, who was in Agra on Sunday, said that VHP will seek parliamentary decision to build Ram temple in Ayodhya, on the lines of Somnath temple. Bansal also claimed that political parties’ inclination towards minority appeasement is delaying the construction of the temple.

“I assure the Hindus, devotees of Ram Lalla and all those who want Ram temple to be built in Ayodhya, that we all will celebrate the 25th Shaurya Diwas inside the temple in Ayodhya,” Bansal added.

When asked how they will fast-track the court proceedings to get the Ram temple built in the next two years, Bansal said that Parliament should come up with a solution to this. He demanded that the Centre should get a law passed by Parliament or promulgate an ordinance to pave the way for the Ram temple in Ayodhya. “Even when the matter is sub judice, there is always a scope for out-of-court settlement,” he added.

“Four rounds of talks have failed as the rival party avoided it. Now the only way out is to build the temple the way the Somnath temple was rebuilt after Independence. The government should pass a Bill in Parliament or bring an ordinance for the same,” said Bansal, adding that this would be a true homage to VHP stalwart Ashok Singhal who died recently.

Meanwhile, Bajrang Dal and VHP activists organized a hawan, burst crackers, took out processions near St. John crossing in the city and pledged support for the construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya.

Muslims observed the day as ‘Kala Din’ and a special namaz was held in the city to pray for peace and harmony.
