Donald J Trump is now President Elect of United States of America. He won decisively 289 vs 218 against Hillary Clinton, who so far refused to concede.
By any yard stick, this is a historic moment for US and victory for Trump. You might have seen earlier E mails about the odds facing him, with prejudiced media and academia et al arrayed against him besides all sorts of manipulated statistics thrown , portraying him as if he already lost even before a single vote was cast.
If you recall among all the polls only one that of IBD (Investor Business Daily) poll was consistent, just two days before its poll predicted 1% lead for Trump, this became 2% a day before and with about same margin in popular vote but with a huge margin in electoral college he won.
Please see the editorial from same news paper. Besides millions of Americans, Trump was backed by 200 American Generals and Admirals who stood solidly in his support, not swayed by propaganda.
Vladimir Putin sent his congratulations.
Leadership matters, Donald Trump campaigned on Change. One of changes hopefully would be to lessen needless tensions that developed during Obama administration between US and Russia over Syria.
Instead of concentrating to end ISIS menace, like good Taliban vs bad Taliban, in case of Syria too backing good rebels against Assad while fighting bad rebels by Obama administration became an arduous task . This in turn complicated fight against ISIS by Russia whose entry into the fray made significant difference to bring Islamic terrorism in that region close to finis.
Needless to say hard work for Trump administration begins now. Judging from hard work he put in to win Presidency, it is very likely he has both stamina physically and mindset to measure up to challenges ahead as well as capacity to harness opportunities. There is a good chance, he too will be remembered like Ronald Reagan, an effective President.
As far as Indo-US relations, which already blossomed through previous administrations including during latest Obama’s, with Trump administration too they will grow and develop further. Trump made no secret of his admiration for Narendra Modi. This augurs well for future Indo-US relations as well.
By the way IBD is consistently supportive of Narendra Modi as well as policies he adopted for India.
Best wishes,
