Karnataka Home Minister warns Kiss of Love protesters, vows to uphold State’s culture

03BG_GEORGE_PG-4_1539706eBengaluru: Nov 18, 2014, DHNS:  Karnataka Home Minister K.J. George said on Tuesday that the police will take action against the ‘Kiss of Love’ organisers, if they disturb law and order in Bengaluru.

Addressing press persons, George said, “We will not hesitate to take action against organisers in case the event is against our culture.”

About 150 Kiss of Love campaigners plan to assemble before the City Town Hall to protest moral policing in about a week’s time. The Bengaluru edition of the campaign has been organised by a human right activist Rachitha Taneja.

Kiss of Love, started as a protest against moral policing in Kerala. It has been held in several other cities including New Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai and Hyderabad.

Pro-Hindu organisations such as Sri Rama Sene have also opposed th Kiss of Love event in Bangalore.
