Foreign minister , S Jaishanker, writes : ‘My personal acquaintance with Narendra Modi began in 2011 , when I was Ambassador in China and he was CM of Gujarat. While awaiting his visit, I was struck by the meticulousness of preparation and the interest to assess China’s progress in different fields . It was apparent to me even then that he envisaged developments in both China and India in terms of civilizational resurgence. What also stood out was his request for a political briefing since he did not wish to deviate from what were national positions while abroad. Terrorism and sovereignty understandably were the focus , given the agenda of our ties.’ (‘ Why Bharat Matters)
Mutual differences may there be among the political parties regarding internal politics of the country. However in perspective of geo-politics in what ways the elected central government had taken forward its steps that how minutely be kept in the mind the glance of it is seen from the approach of Narendra Modi given in the above instance . To be remindful of it is also necessary because ignoring what is the wider aspects of the strategic relationship with Israel, country has seen how the ‘secular’ parties have been in favor of Palestine .
Adani’s Hyfa port is in Israel . Its maritime significance could be underrated only either in case of one is unconcerned to national interest or ignorant of geo-economics of the region where that lies. In the G-20 conclave organized in India the India-Middle East- Europe- Economic Corridor (IMEEC) is proposed to come up . Bypassing Suez-canal, IMEEC is to go through UAE, Saudi Arab , Jordan connecting Adani’s Hayfa sea-port in Israel , finally entering Europe then. Its importance could be understood by the fact that Suez canal situated in Red-sea offers very narrow passage causing the ships that pass through it getting huddled here . Therefore the token system is evolved to tide over the problem, which, however, causes the wastage of much time at present . Besides, it passes close to South African continent from where the Somalia’s bands of pirates and Yemen’s intransigent Houthis terrorists pose the trouble to shipping activities every now and then . On the other side proposed corridor, IMEEC , has nothing to do with South Africa and their hordes of troublesome elements. Moreover this new alternative provision of corridor would account for the cost of transportation to come down by as low as 40%. India and Israel are thus indispensable to each other, irrespective of their internal affairs.
And, where with respect to Bangladesh it was required to be vocal in the interest of the country , the same seculars preferred to maintain silence. In Bangladesh the things have gone so worse that even whom we call educated those students of so-called agitation have begun to show their true Jihadist- colour , insulting and forcing the Hindus and other minority teachers to resign from their government posts. Besides, even the Hindus holding high posts categorically being targeted in open . Taslima Nasreen says, today more than the political activists it is Jihadists who have taken the hold of the streets , wanting to bring the ‘Khilafat’ in the country.
More notably, from the Bangladeshi jihadists the future of the Hindus here in the border regions of the country is no less in peril . For the tribal communities of Jharkhand it is nothing else but the Santhal Pargana Tenancy Act (SPT Act ) that has come in the way of their safe future as a demographic existence in the region . The age old custom of this tribal region tells that in the transfer of the land it is the husband of the daughter will hold the right to own it, not the son. Now the daughter being tribal, the land is to go in possession of whom she gets to be married according to the law. Now the Bangladeshis who make illegal infiltration in Jharkhand , their next target gets to lure girls into wedlock launching Love-Jihad. Thus, having become son-in-law, they are bringing about the next stage of ‘Land-Jihad.’
