“We Remember – #25YearsInExile”
In remembrance of the harrowing murders of several members of our community, and their exodus from the homeland, Team@KPCS is organising two key events in London on Sunday 18th January and Monday 19th January 2015
I am writing to you to request your participation on both days – please may I request you to put these dates in your diary. 18th January 2015 (Sunday): Peace Walk ending at Trafalgar Square (12 pm to 3 pm)

To mark the 25th Year of Kashmiri Hindus Forced Exodus Day, hundreds of well meaning individuals and community groups will be joining us for a 2 mile Peace Walk (starting at Victoria Embankment Gardens going via Strand and ending at Trafalgar Square). We will be holding hand held plaques and banners and carrying out a peace procession. At Trafalgar Square there will be a few Remembrance speeches and recitations along with a peace vigil. The theme for the year 2015, it being #25YearsInExile is “We Remember”. We will be joined by a number of families, individuals, organisations and groups offering support in solidarity.

A Memorial Event at the House of Commons to mark the sad date – 19 January 1990 – that every Kashmiri Hindu remembers with a lot of sadness.  KPCS with support from the All Party Parliamentary Group of British Hindus, is organising a programme with presentations, memorial speeches by leading parliamentarians, activists and also for the first time we will have first person accounts shared by the victims of this forced exodus. The evening will be Chaired by Bob Blackman MP (Harrow East constituency) and Virendra Sharma MP (Southall & Ealing constituency). 
We will also be organising a special screening of a documentary film – “Abandoned Cranes” made by a young film maker Siddharth Acharya talking about the Forced Exodus in 1989-90.
