Kolhapur (Maharashtra) : ‘Hindus, who are minority in Pakistan and Bangla Desh, are severely oppressed for past few decades in those countries and they are coming to India seeking refuge. In such situation, the Government is trying to throw them out of the country after their passports expire, instead of supporting them. We, therefore, condemn the Congress Government which is giving discriminating treatment to Hindu brethren,’ stated Shri. Dilip Bhivate, the Regional Vice President of Hindu Ekata Andolan. All Hindu refugees, who have come to India for shelter, should be extended every facility for rehabilitation and should be given Indian citizenship without delay. Demonstrations were held at Shivaji Chowk near the statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj for the above demands and Shri. Bhivate addressed the participants.
Bajarang Dal’s District-Chief, Shri. Banda Salokhe said, “On one hand, Bangla Deshi infiltrators are provided ration cards and other facilities; but Hindu refugees are treated like criminals. We condemn this stand.”
Dr. Mansingh Shinde of HJS said, “Hindu refugees should not be sent back to Pakistan in any case by force; but the Government should take their responsibility, so also extend all facilities to children of these refugees.” Shri. Shivanand Swami of HJS expressed his views too on this occasion.
The program was attended by Shri. Mahesh Ursal of Bajarang Dal, Shri. Shivajirao Sase and Shri. Raju Yadav of Hindu Ekata, Sou. Tilottama Naik and Sharda Hirave of Sree Sampradaya, Sou. Sangita Kadukar, Sou. Rajashree More, Sou. Snehal Pore of Sanatan Sanstha and Shri. Babasaheb Bhople of HJS; besides about 75 devout Hindus.
