Advocate Rabindra Ghosh, Bangladesh said in his speech addressing the attendees of the 4th Hindu Adhiveshan that, ‘The condition of Hindus in Bangladesh is pitiable. Their land is being snatched away from them. In the year 1971, the population of Hindus in Bangladesh was 15%; but now it is only 8%. Most of the Hindus have either been converted or have managed to escape to some other country. The idols of Hindu Deities are being broken, temples are being destroyed. There are incidents of violence and rape on Hindu women. Hindus are on the receiving end of all these atrocities. Inspite of complaining about this to the ‘United Nations’ Organisation, no step has been taken to stop this injustice. Other Hindus should come forward to protect the Bangladeshi Hindus; otherwise Hindus will be totally wiped off from Bangladesh.’
