American Freedom Defensive Initiative (AFDI) organized a massive rally at Union Square in New York City on August 17th in support of Israel and other persecuted religious minorities.
Mr. Arish Sahani, Senior Vice President of Indian American Intellectuals Forum in his speech said that we Hindus like Jews and other victims of jihad have suffered the most at the hands of radical Islam for the last 14 hundred years. Hence we really feel and understand the unprecedented cruelties and savageries perpetrated on religious minorities by Islamic jihadists. Today we stand with you to express our solidarity. In fact, we all are natural allies, Sahani emphasized.
Narrating the story of his childhood, Mr. Sahani said that I am the survivor of the Partition of India in which millions of Hindus and Sikhs were mercilessly murdered by radical Islamists as is happening in the areas controlled by Islamic State in Iraq. Our women were raped and millions of worth of our property was looted and burnt. I stand here with Yazidis and Christians whose women are being sold as sex slaves, raped, and men butchered on daily basis by Islamic State in Iraq.
Referring to the population of Hindus in Pakistan in 1947, Mr. Sahani said that the Hindu Sikh population in Pakistan was about 22-23%. Now all of them have been religiously cleansed by radical Islamists. Radical Islamists cannot coexist with anyone in any country. They believe in extremist and supremacist ideology. They extol the virtue of exclusiveness, violence and hatred. Hence I believe that Islam is not a religion but a political ideology. The aim of this ideology is to dominate and work for military conquest of the country wherever Muslims live. Muslims are working constantly to establish Nizam-e-Mustfa (Rule of Allah) in every country and kill all the infidels if they refuse to convert to Islam.
Chiding the media and expressing his anguish at their irresponsible support to some terrorist groups, Mr. Sahani said that even though liberal and far left media knows it very well that Hamas, Taliban, Al-Qaida, Muslim Brotherhood, Lashkar-e-Taiba, Indian Mujahideen, Jaish-e- Muhammed, Boko Haram and other terrorist groups operating under various names are sides of the same coin and derive inspiration from the same ideology – Islam – they, under the guise of human rights, keep on misguiding and fooling our citizens by issuing good conduct certificates to the adherents of the ideology which aims at destroying entire humanity, exclaimed Mr. Sahani!

On Sunday, August 17, we held a rally in New York City’s Union Square that was truly historic. It was historic because for the first time in the 1,400-year history of Islamic jihad, all the victims stood together in a united front for freedom: Jews; Christians from areas of heavy Muslim persecution such as Sudan and Egypt; Hindus; Yazidis; Kurds; and more.
AFDI RALLY FOR ISRAEL AND PERSECUTED MINORITIES UNDER ISLAMIC LAW
Staging this kind of rally is a massive undertaking. But it is critical that we wage this war in the information battle-space. All too few people realize that Israel faces the same foe that is massacring Yazidis in Iraq, Buddhists in Thailand, Christians in Nigeria, and so many others elsewhere – including 3,000 Americans on 9/11. And it is imperative that we stand together to face this threat, for united we are so much more powerful than we are when separated.
That’s why our rally was so important, and why the leftist media is in a frenzy to discredit it. The Huffington Post headlined its hit piece “Pamela Geller, ‘Anti-Muslim Hate Group’ Leader Banned From UK, Holds Pro-Israel Rally In NY.” So opposing the oppression and genocide against the Yazidis and others is “anti-Muslim” — and apparently the Huffington Post is on the side of the slaughterers. And pointing out that I am banned in the UK, that is a moment of shame not for me, but for Britain. Any liberal, thinking, freedom-loving human being knows how wrong it is to ban a human rights activist who stands for freedom and individual rights against oppression and subjugation.
But this is how the enemedia works: to keep the truth from being heard, they smear the truth-tellers. Smearing and sneering are all they can do. Another report was sneeringly headlined, “Pamela Geller Holds Rally in NYC Against ‘Persecuting Jihadists,’ Most NYers Can’t Bother to Be Outraged.”
No “journalist” saw fit to report on the groundbreaking convergence and coalition of all the victims of jihad. None even quoted anything any of our speakers said, even to refute it.
But this media rage and contempt shows that we’re making headway: they don’t bother to try to destroy those who are not effective. And we have much more planned. Our rally took place as we were preparing to roll out a new pro-Israel campaign to run next month on 100 NYC bus tails and urban panels at Columbus Circle and 59th Street.
To cover the aggregate expenses involved in all this and our other ongoing projects, we need to raise $50,000.
It is critical that we wage this war in the information battlespace. If we don’t speak out, the liars and jihad enablers of the Huffington Post and other leftist media outlets will stand unchallenged. We are unique at AFDI in our ability to challenge media lies in a way that gets the truth out and helps stem the tide against freedom. Please help us with a tax-deductible donation today.
