Hindu human rights violations in Bangladesh have been ongoing since it’s independence in 1971 from Pakistan on religious lines. Hindu are getting persecuted socially and politically, their women are raped, houses burned down, property encroached, families openly murdered by mobs, their sacred temples, deities are vandalized, protection money extortion calls, abductions and kidnappings  by violent Islamist mobs is common in Bangladesh. The population of Hindus in Bangladesh was 30% in 1947, which has now reduced to meager 9%, due to forced conversions, killings and religious led violence migration to other countries.

When Pakistani Army and it’s militia was torturing and killing local Bangladeshis from 1947-1971, it was India – a Hindu majority nation, it’s government and Army which came to the relief of this severely victimized nation in relief supplies, political empowerment of it’s local Bangladeshi leaders and eventually facilitating its independence on cost of its own military, more than 2000 Indian Army men were killed in the war, which led to its independence from Pakistan and enabled democracy, fair human rights and it’s prosperity in this Bengali speaking area. However, with no due respect and regards for the good things Hindus of the Indian subcontinent have done for them, few Jihadists groups, with no fear of local government, police keep targeting the peaceful Hindu community, who have immensely contributed to Bangladesh’s economy, music, arts and many other areas . Though, after worldwide outcry by global Hindu groups and direct intervention by Indian PM Narendra Modi and his foreign office to protect Hindus, the new PM Muhammad Yunus, has assured the global Hindu community that his government will ensure protection of Hindus in Bangladesh, cases of attacks on Hindus are still on rise and are occurring in semi urban and rural areas.

The protesting Hindus wanted to give a petition to officials of Bangladeshi embassy, however no one came out from the embassy.

The event was covered widely by local media.
