About Ekal Movement
Dedicated to bring educational development in the rural India, Ekal Vidyalaya is a tax exempt, registered nonprofit service based in United States. Also known as “Ekal Movement” it is one of the largest non-government
movement operating at the grassroots level in tribal and remote Indian villages. With around 57,000 schools imparting education to more than 1.6 million Indian children currently, the organization’s mission is to eradicate illiteracy from tribal and rural India by 2015.
The organization largely depends on the donations made by NRIs residing in USA and UK and support its cause of educated rural and tribal India. That’s why from time to time the organization arranges fundraising and cause-awareness events to expand its donor base. And for the same reason, two fundraising events/charity musical shows will be held in the month of May 2014 in Massachusetts and Maryland, United States. The information regarding the upcoming May 2014 events by Ekal Vidyalaya are as follows.
First Event
“Musical Evening” going to take place in Rockville, MD on Saturday, 24th May, 2014 at F Scott Fitzgerald Theater. 603 Edmonston Drive. Rockville, MD. (Tickets includes dinner)
Time: 7:30-10:30PM. Dinner starts at 6:30PM
Second Event
Ekal Vidyalaya’s annual fundraising charity concert/musical evening to be held on Saturday, May 31, 2014 in Foxboro, MA.
Timings: 5 PM – 10 PM
Venue: Demetri’s Function Facility
This fundraising charity concert/musical evening is featuring Zee TV “Sa Re Ga Ma” 2005 edition winner Sunil Menon and the “Nightingale of Gujarat” Vibhavari Yadav, together with other artists and performers from India. Dinner is complementary.
