Hindu families attacked in Faridpur over land dispute, 10 injured

At least 10 people including women were injured when terrorists on Tuesday attacked Hindu families.

The incident occurred in Khatra village of Bhanga upazila, Faridpur district on minority Hindu families where the attackers burnt and vandalised their house also.

Suresh Biswas, a victim of the attack, said, “Around 100 armed people came under the leadership of local Anisur Rahman, Litu Hawlader, Hafez Hawladar and Suruj Hawlader to build a house in a disputed land of the Hindu community of Khatra village.

At this time, when the Hindus obstructed, the attackers carried out robbery by vandalising and burning their house.

After being informed, the local people and the police brought the situation under control dousing the fire flames.

The injured were admitted to Sadarpur hospital and other local clinics.

Bhanga Police Station Officer Majibur Rahman said, “The police went to the spot after the attack and situation is under control. A case is being registered. Police have arrested three people named Aftab Howlader, Jahangir Howlader and Tamim Hawlader to keep the situation peaceful.”
