Vishwa Hindu Parishad’s International Working President Praveen Bhai Togadia on Saturday expressed concern over the meagre budget allocation for healthcare and urged the state and central governments to work towards improving existing facilities across the country. Speaking during the 37th Annual Conference of National Medicos Organisation (NMO) held at Mahati Auditorium, Mr. Togadia spoke on the perilous health status of the country and asserted that the rising healthcare costs have prevented people from getting regular checkups, as many of them go to the doctors after complications.

“India ranks number one in hypertension, diabetes, heart ailments, psychiatric cases and will soon become the foremost in obesity cases. If this continues, India will become a superpower of diseases,” he added. Mr Togadia further said that the Centre and States should evolve a separate health budget to focus on neglected issues and also bring down the cost of healthcare as well as health education. RSS national joint secretary Dr. Krishna Gopal, NMO national president Bharath Prabhudas, and secretary Omprakash took part.
