Ekal Vidyalaya Foundation USA Appoints New President

Vinod Jhunjhunwala was recently appointed as the new president of the Ekal Vidyalaya Foundation-USA due to his entrepreneurial skills and dedication to Ekal’s operations, according to a press release.

Prior to taking over the position on Jan. 1, Jhunjhunwala had been an executive vice president of Ekal since 2011.
A graduate of St. Xavier’s College in Kolkata and MIT in Boston, Mass., Jhunjhunwala was a successful businessman for over 36 years.
The Indian American has ambitious plans to effectively use modern technology, not only to channel donors’ contributions but also to track the progress of village-based empowerment projects in India.
As a well-known philanthropist in the Indian American community, Jhunjhunwala is the son-in-law of Ekal founder Madanlalji Agarwala, who introduced him to the “Friends of Tribal Society” earlier in his career.
In taking the reins of Ekal, Jhunjhunwala has resolved to place emphasis on strengthening Ekal chapters, building donor relations, and promoting Ekal activities.
He will represent “Ekal-USA” at Swami Vivekananda’s 150th birth anniversary celebrations in Kolkata this month and also at the Parinam Kumbh in Dhandad, Bihar, where Ekal began, in March 2015.
