DEMAND FOR HOMELAND CANNOT BE COMPROMISED

In a special meeting of the Governing Body of Diversity-USA here today the proposal concerning the reorganization of J&K State received unanimous support. Speaking with the newsmen after the meeting the Chairman of the Think Tank, Dr. Jagan Kaul, said that the members of the Governing Body were of the firm opinion that the denial of equal political status and footing to the non-Muslim minorities of the three provinces of the state marked the biggest shortcoming and failure of the otherwise successful democracy in India. These minorities have been struggling to gain political equality for the past 67 years. The previous Indian regimes however, having been trapped in the vortex of communal and vote bank politics have failed to give them justice and a level playing field.
CRUSADE TO DECIMATE KASHMIR’S HINDU HISTORY & HERITAGE CONTINUES
Some of the recent attacks and desecrations of Hindu temples and shrines is a clear indication that Islamists in Kashmir have not changed their strategy and modus operandi despite supposedly a Hindu party I.e., BJP, overwhelmingly having captured power in the country. On the other hand, in spite of the provocative and violent behavior demonstrated by the anti-India, anti-Hindu and Islamist forces, the BJP regime has yet to take any stern measures to teach them a lesson. Observers believe that up to this time there has been no visible difference between the policies of Congress and that of BJP in dealing with anti-Hindu activities by the Jihadi groups. The power and authority of the Govt. seems to have been neutralized by the separatists Jihad machine so much so that Omar Abdullah is believed to have succumbed to the Hurriyat command for banning the Kaunsar Naag Pilgrimage.
The campaign to remove traces of Kashmir’s Hindu past, Hindu culture, heritage and places of religious significance continues to make gains. These deplorable acts constitute flagrant violations of freedom of religion guaranteed under the Indian Constitution and the UN Charter yet the local authorities considered them as casual occurrences deserving no serious action. Considering the questionable record of the local authorities and their leadership the federal Govt. will do well by placing the Omar Govt. under a tight scanner.
USE THE “ISRAELI PRESCRIPTION” TO DISMANTLE THE “JIHAD MACHINE” NOW
The campaign of de-Hinduization for spreading and strengthening theIslamization of the region continues to gain more and more ground. Panun Kashmir family, Kashmira Vahini and other KP organizations have publicly sited the instances of the Islamic violence and misbehavior in recent days in Hindu shrines which include: 1) unprovoked attacks on Swami Amarnath pilgrims and burning of theirmore than 100 langars at Baltal by the Islamic hooligans; 2) violation ofthe status quo granted by the Indian Supreme Court over the Martand Temple & the State Govt. complicity in it; 3) desecration of the world famous Khir Bhawani temple by the Islamists; 4) the ban clamped on Kausar Nag pilgrimage by CM Omar Abdullah.
Diversity-USA strongly believes that the Indian federal Govt. must administer an unmistakable warning to these terrorist groups to either follow and respect the law of the land or the authorities will be forced to consider applying the “Israeli Prescription” for neutralizing and destroying the “Jihad Machine”. Dr. Kaul said that the reversal of genocide and ethnic cleansing cannot be achieved by ordinary means, appeasement or by offering fat financial incentives.
RE-ORGANIZE STATE AND RE-DISTRIBUTE POLITICAL POWER
He said that the Modi Govt. has a unique opportunity and the needed parliamentary capability for eradicating this problem by re-organizing the state and affording political empowerment to the hitherto disenfranchised and marginalized Kashmiris. Such a measure will create four autonomous geopolitical units in the state and provide a safe and secure home for the exiled Kashmiris who were victims of the Islamic Jihad, ethnic cleansing and genocide. Such reorganization and re-distribution of political power will also strengthen the foundations of democracy, freedom and eco-progress in the state. Asking the exiles to return and live in Wahabi Kashmir without dismantling the Muslim erected Wahabi status quo will be a tragedy of the highest order and no amount of financial or any other allurement will motivate the exiled people to return to what they know to be the “valley of death”. The re-organization of the state would be the most befitting way to defeat the extremely dangerous, disruptive and divisive schemes propounded by the Islamist operatives. In the interest of expanding democracy and the country’s national security there cannot and should not be any compromise on the issue of creating a homeland for the victims of genocide. The relentless attacks and communal hostility mounted by the Islamists under the backdrop of Govt. plans to return and re-settle the exiled Hindus in Kashmir convincingly proves that the normalcy in Kashmir claimed to have been restored is nothing but an unbelievable hoax and the demand for a homeland and reorganization by the exiled is justified and prudent. They have paid an enormously high price through seven exoduses and this saga of pain, murder and plunder spearheaded by the Islamists must end now.
ARMY SHOULD CONTROL SECURITY OF AMARNATH PILGRIMAGE
Referring to the deceptive role of the operatives of the J&K establishment Dr. Kaul said since they were inducted in positions of power during the abnormal political circumstances they should all be screened and those found unfit to exercise rational and neutral authority should either be relieved or sent for retraining. In view of the oft repeated failures of the state administration in maintaining law and order, the security of the Amarnath pilgrimage, Dr. Kaul said, should be handed over to the Indian military. This world famous historic pilgrimage should not be allowed to become an opportunity for unleashing of the communal agitations by the Islamists and supporters of Taliban and Al Qaeda to highlight their intolerance of the Hindu presence in Kashmir. As a matter of policy and for building religious harmony the control of all Hindu temples, shrines and their estates should be transferred to theHindu community. Otherwise in the interest of justice, fair play and equality similar Muslim religious properties should be placed under the management of Hindu professionals.
DIVERSITY TO PRESENT MEMO TO MODI SUPPORTING HOMELAND
Dr.. Kaul said that Diversity-USA has supported the demand for creating a homeland under the Indian Constitution for the exiled Kashmiris from the very beginning and we stand by that commitment unwaveringly. To further advance our support we are planning to present a comprehensive memorandum to Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his upcoming visit to the US in September. Mr. Modi is visiting the US for participating in the UN General Assembly and to undertake his first ever face to face talks with the US President, Barack Obama, on the President’s invitation.
