Sangli (Maharashtra) : Dr. Bharat Patankar of “Bharat Mukti Morcha’ has received a threatening letter on 16th of March. The writer of the letter has enclosed a copy of the daily ‘Sanatan Prabhat’ along with the letter. As a result, an attempt was made to connect the daily ‘Sanatan Prabhat’ with the threat. Dr. Patankar has presented the above letter in a press conference held on 16th March. The letter includes the matter such as ‘Though you have carried out good work for project affected people, abandon your efforts to appease Muslims !’, ‘You made a mistake in accepting the post of the president of ‘Vidrohi Sahitya Sammelan’, ‘If you had a courage, repeat it and see what ensues.’
In this reference, Dr. Patankar said, ‘One month had passed on 16th March for the assault on Comrade Govind Pansare. On the very day, I received this letter and a copy of the daily ‘Sanatan Prabhat’ by post. I am not a reader or a subscriber of this newspaper. I have never received the copy of the newspaper earlier. ‘Sanatan Prabhat’ had filed a defamation case in the Goa Court against Dr. Narendra Dabholkar and Comrade Govind Pansare. The date of 16th February was fixed as the date for hearing the case. And on the very day Comrade Govind Pansare was attacked. (This means that Dr. Patankar is also falsely accusing Sanatan Sanstha of sending the latter. If Sanatan Sanstha were to indulge in such activities, why would they have fought the legal battle for last 16 years, through the mediums of ideology and judiciary through court cases ? – Editor, Dainik Sanatan Prabhat)
I received the threat while a month was about to pass for the assault. This means that this is a clear warning. The activists are enraged by the threat ‘You are the next after Dr. Narendra Dabholkar and Comrade Govind Pansare.’ We would hold agitation over the issue, but I have no control over the activists, who might take next step. (Why did Dr. Patankar not lodge the police complaint then itself ! – Editor, Dainik Sanatan Prabhat) I had not approached the Police at that time; however, now, I am informing police through media. They only should decide on the next course of action.”
