Convention demands Modi should hold talks on Hindu’s Holy Cow slaughter issue

NThe Govansha Raksha Abhiyan on Saturday demanded that Prime Minister Narendra Modi should now come forward and hold discussions on ‘Cow’ and implement a ban on cow-slaughter throughout the country.

Mr. Hanumant Parab, who had filed a public interest litigation in High Court here last year opposing cow-slaughter, made the demand while speaking in a session on ‘Gopalan and Goraksha’ on the second day of the on-going third All India Hindu Convention at Ramnathi in Central Goa, on Saturday.

“It is really sad that cow-slaughter is continuing in Bharatiya Janata Party(BJP) ruled State of Mr Manohar Parrikar,” said Mr. Parab claiming that when he filed a petition in the High Court last year against the on-going cow-slaughter, he was opposed by the BJP.

He expressed satisfaction that despite no help from BJP government, they could avert 65 per cent of the cow-slaughter in the State this year because of the initiatives of the ‘Goraksha Abhiyan’.

In another discussion at the convention on media, Mr. Suresh Chavhanke, Sudarshan News alleged that news channels in the country are under the control of Church, foreigners and foreign educated individuals.

“Therefore, the difficulties faced by Hindus are not telecast on these News channels”, he said.

“Since the policy of very few anti-Hindu national channels out of a total 450 channels is emulated by the rest of the channels, there is not a single channel to promote Hindu viewpoints”, he said and added, “ In order to change this situation and to present the difficulties faced by Hindus, a Hindu channel is essential.”
