Vishwa Hindu Parishad patron and senior leader Ashok Singhal on Wednesday demanded that Narendra Modi led Central government should start the construction of Ram Temple at Ramjanam bhoomi at Ayodhya. Citing Bharatiya Janata Party’s election manifesto, he said that the government should work towards fulfilling all promises made in it.
The senior VHP leader further claimed that the construction work would soon start at Ayodhya and would herald a lasting cordial relationship between Hindus and Muslims. Recalling former PM Atal Behari Vajpayee’s New York visit in September 2000 to attend United NationsMillennium summit, Singhal said that Vajpayee had assured a delegation of 100 Indian saints that the BJP would fulfill the promise of made in manifesto after securing majority in the parliament.
Singhal added that Ram devotees had given a majority to the BJP and the saint fraternity is eagerly awaiting the construction of a temple in honour and celebration of Ram, the hero of humanity.
