You might be aware that Swami Sachidananda Bharathi is a former Indian Air Force Officer turned promoter of human solidarity, holistic development and integral peace. An encounter with death in an air accident in 1982 was the turning point in the life of the young and ambitious Indian Air Force Squadron Leader who hails from an upper middle class Syrian Christian background in central Kerala.
Four gurus appeared to him in dreams at four different states of his spiritual journey that began soon after the air accident. They were Justice Joseph Vithayathil, Rev. Fr. Bede Griffiths OSB, Swami Ranganathananda and Mahatma Gandhi. These gurus guided him in his spiritual quest and helped him to understand the mission of his ‘second life’. He received ‘Sadhak Diksha’ in 1984, ‘Brahmacharya diksha’ in 1987, ‘Acharya diksha’ in 1990, and ‘Sanyasa diksha’ in 2001. In 2003 he initiated the ‘Bharathi Chaturashrama Sanyasa Parampara’ and took the name ‘Swami Sachidananda Bharathi’.
Swami Sachidananda Bharathi has travelled widely. He has also authored a number of books. “”Integral Revolution” is his latest work. Swamiji is the Founder and Acharya-guru of National Regeneration Movement, Dharma Bharathi Mission, Dharma Bharathi Ashram and Navasrushti International Trust. He was one of the delegates who represented India in the Millennium World Peace Summit of Religious and Spiritual Leaders organised by the United Nations at New York in August 2000.
