BJP leader Harssh Vardhan meets Pakistani Hindus camping at Jantar Mantar

Harsh Vardhan

Leader of the Opposition Harsh Vardhan on Tuesday met a group of Pakistani Hindus camping at Jantar Mantar to demand that the Indian government provide them food, shelter and jobs.
About 147 Hindus met Dr Vardhan and sought the BJP’s help to “get permission to stay in India, employment and Indian citizenship”.
“There are no facilities in Pakistan for cremating Hindus. We were not allowed to work or do any sort of business for our sustenance,” claimed a Pakistani woman.
Families said that the living conditions were very poor for the Hindus in Pakistan. “We are helpless and the Indian government has not done anything to help us. The Hindu families are being exploited in Pakistan on all accounts,” said another Pakistani national.
The protesters demanded that the Indian government should expedite the visa procedure for their families who wish to relocate to India. They also wanted the government to set up a relief fund to help the Hindus from Pakistan.
The protesters also sought support from the state government. A Pakistani protester told the BJP leader, “We are finding it difficult to bear the cold. There are no basic facilities here. The Delhi government should provide us basic facilities.”
They also burned effigies of chief minister Arvind Kejriwal and urban development minister Manish Sisodia for failing to rehabilitate them.
