“Beti Bachao – Beti Padhao” event jointly hosted by ‘Ekal Vidyalaya’ and ‘Indian Consulate’. Your extensive reporting (with the pictures), in your esteemed publication shall be very much appreciated. This will bring ‘Women’ and our society’s age-old age-old attitudes and beliefs towards them into focus. This event was the part of celebration of ‘International Women’s Month’ in relation to their empowerment. As of now Ekal has 57,000 Ekal-schools in rural & tribal areas which nurture 1.5 Million children (Half of them Girls). Ekal has also empowered women in those 60,000-plus villages by instituting various cottage industries, which has increased their earnings 15-20 times in some cases – some of them have now even become.
