Udupi, Oct 21:
“Bajrang Dal has scheduled to conduct large scale blood donation camps in the state on November 2. Dal aims to collect 10,000 units of blood through these the camps, out of which 3,000 and 2,000 units will be collected from Mangalore and Udupi respectively,” said M B Puranik, executive president of Vishwa Hindu Parishad in a news conference.

Puranik also revealed that as part of Vishwa Hindu Parishad golden jubilee celebrations, a Saints Conference will be held on November 11 and 12 at Siddaganga Math premises in Tumkur. 500 saints and holy men are expected to participate in the conference which will be inaugurated by Dr Shivarama Swamy, a senior ascetic.

When reporters asked regarding the church attacks in 2008, Puranik said “The attacks were not preplanned. The churches were not damaged. We admit that there was damage to the prayer hall. It is not fair to reject the report of the commission appointed by the government. As suitable action was not taken in the matter, ordinary activists might have caused the damage. The media also glorified the incidents,”

“The present situation is the conspiracy to hide the systematic conversions. The congratulatory gesture shown to the Chief Minister also is politically motivated.” he added.

“We are always prepared to safeguard cows, religion, math and places of worship. However the government is acting as if it is anti religion. The rejection of Somashekar commission report is politically motivated. A rejection like this has occurred for the first time. Several crores of rupees were spent for the report. Strict action should be taken against cow slaughtering.” he concluded.

Sharan Pumpwell, the Bajrang Dal convener, Bykadi Suprasada Shetty and Sunil among others were present.
