Allahabad: Union minister for road transport and highways Nitin Gadkari said on Monday that BJP national president Amit Shah would take action, once the Kairana probe committee submits its report. BJP had sent a nine-member team under Kairana MP Hukum Singh to assess the situation over the alleged exodus of over 300 Hindu families from west UP’s Kairana town in Shamli district.
The Union government is making efforts to solve the problems of drought affected Bundelkhand region through better irrigation measures. Stress is being laid to collect 70% of rainwater to be utilized for irrigation. Rs 1,86,000 crore would be utilized to solve water crisis across the country. Stress has been laid towards better irrigation measures in next four years. The Union government has planned to set up water boards at different areas for water conservation, he added.
Elaborating the two-year achievements of nda government, Gadkari said that the Union government has started receiving better results of policies that it had adopted two years back. He claimed that when the entire world was facing economic crisis, India has is the fastest growing economy due to the efficient economic policies.
Today, agriculture growth rate is 2.4% while the GDP is 7.9%, he maintained. The Union government has managed to open 21.80 crore bank accounts in two years and Rs 36,000 crore was deposited in the banks. The Modi government is committed for the development of poor, labourers, women and accidental and insurance cover have been introduced for them.
“We have taken road and rail transport on priority basis and work on 403 road projects is continuing. The Union government is committed for good governance and schemes like Make In India have become quite popular,” he said.
