All India Kashmiri Samaj (AIKS) welcomes the imposition of Governor’s rule in Jammu & Kashmir State after BJP withdrew its support to PDP-BJP coalition government. AIKS escalate the timely decision of BJP.
It was always felt that PDP and BJP are ideologically too different from each other and were not working smoothly in a coalition. However, AIKS do appreciate that the verdict of the last election in the state was such that for BJP, there was no alternative but for the two to join hands to give the long-suffering State a stable government.
The coalition government had a great advantage as it represented all the people of the three regions of the State but narrow politics of the leaders could not do justice to restore peace in the valley and fulfill the commitment of “Agenda of Alliance” Myopic thinking, Kashmir-centric PDP used the opportunity to appease the separatists and their camp followers in order to increase its vote-bank in Kashmir.
On the other hand, BJP, by playing second fiddle to Mehbooba Mufti, alienated its voters in Jammu and Ladakh.
The unilateral cease-fire announced by the Centre during the month of Ramzan was the last straw that broke the camel’s back, the militants in Kashmir, did not reciprocate the Centre’s gesture, but indulged in ruthless killings, particularly of civilians and Jawans proceeding on leave.
It is hoped that ‘Operation All Out’, suspended during Ramzan, will be re-commenced with renewed vigor and the Jihadis dealt with a firm hand and eliminated completely to restore peace in the Valley.
It is also hoped that Government will deal firmly with those anti- national elements who provide financial, political and other over ground support to the militants.
AIKS appeals to the government to deal firmly with secessionists who are responsible for unrest in the Valley.
AIKS also appeals to the government to ensure the safety and security of yatries on pilgrimage to Shri Amarnath.
AIKS also flays the statements of Congress leaders of J&K State bent to address unruly Kashmir in such a way that the problem remains unsloved.
General Secretary AIKS
