When: Sunday, Sept. 15th, 2019
Where: London, U.K.
Venue: TBD
Title: The controversy about conversions in India

Abstract: In India, conversion is a hot item. On the one hand, you have Christian missionaries and Muslim “inviters” who explicitly work to effect conversions to their own religion. On the other you have Hindus complaining about the success of those missionaries, but doing very little against it. Very minoritarian, and disowned by the Government of India, is the Ghar Wâpasi movement for reconversion to Hinduism. That is the situation on the ground: Hindus mostly on the defensive against conversions. But what case do they have? Is anything wrong with conversions? Indologist Dr. Koenraad ELST compares the viewpoints of the contending religions.
