Participates in Jan Samvadprogramme under the Namami Devi Narmade –Narmada Seva Yatra
“THE Narmada Seva Yatra initiative has shown a way to the Uttar Pradesh Government for starting the ‘Namami Gange’ project for conservation of the river Ganga. Despite diversified culture and religions, the spirit of this nation lives in rivers. All ancient civilizations flourished on the banks of rivers but people have overlooked their conservation in this materialistic world. The Narmada Seva Yatra is not limited to river conservation only but is a unique campaign for conservation of human values and environment,” said Yogi Adityanath, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister.
He was addressing the Jan Samvad programme under the Namami Devi Narmade – Narmada Seva Yatra at Raja Shankarshah Stadium, Shahpura development block, 56 kilometres from Dindori district headquarters in Madhya Pradesh, on Friday.
Addressing the programme, Yogi Adityanath added that faith on ‘Sanatan Dharma’ had inspired a saint from Kerala, Adi Shankaracharya to establish four Shaktipeeths in four corners of the country. The same campaign has been restarted with the initiative of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and MP Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan in the form of the world’s biggest river protection campaign. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had allotted budget of Rs 20,000 crore for this project and CM Shivraj Singh ensured that the Narmada Seva Yatra became a massive public movement. Yogi added that he was eagerly waiting for participation in the Narmada Seva Yatra to witness its magnificence.
“The 3,000-kilometres-long Yatra, with presence of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh at 44 Jan Samvad programmes, mirrors his commitment which has taken shape of a grand public movement with crowds unexpected in non-political event.” He applauded the initiatives of CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan for changing status of MP from ‘Bimaru Pradesh’ to a progressive one in the last 15 years. He shared his experience of passing through Madhya Pradesh by road 12 years back and termed it as the worst due to pathetic condition of roads.
“Now this state has emerged on the top in agriculture production, surplus electricity, development of irrigation facilities, road infrastructure, increasing per capita income and introduction of public welfare schemes. I have already sent officers of UP Government for taking information about development projects in MP for ensuring development of the state.” Earlier, Chief Minister Chouhan expressed gratitude to UP CM yogi Adityanath for participating in the yatra. CM Yogi Adityanath and MP CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan welcomed Narmada Seva Yatra by receiving ‘Narmada Kalash’ and ‘Narmada Dhwaj’.
CM Yogi Adityanath and CM Chouhan planted a sapling at Raja Shankarshah Stadium. During the programme, Sadhna Singh, School Education Minister, Vijay Shah, Food Minister, Omprakash Dhurvey, Uttar Pradesh, Transport Minister, Swatantra Singh, a large number of public representatives, MLAs and senior religious gurus were present.
