CARIBBEAN HINDI SYMPOSIUM-CHALLENGES AND SOLUTIONS
We are pleased to invite you to attend and participate in our CARIBBEAN HINDI SYMPOSIUM— CHALLENGES AND SOLUTIONS scheduled to take place on:
- Saturday 11th February 2017 (8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.)
- Sunday 12th February 2017 (9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon)
The venue is the Bisram Gopie Sangeet Bhavan (Auditorium), Divali Nagar compound, Nasaloo Ramaya Marg, Endeavour, Chaguanas.
The programme is intended to examine traditional and non-traditional methods of using Hindi with the emphasis on understanding and speaking the language. It is anticipated that the programme will be structured as follows:
- A plenary session at the commencement
- “Round table” discussions on:
- Hindi as presently taught in schools
- Hindi as presently taught outside the school system
- Hindi via conventional media (print, radio and TV)
- Hindi via non-conventional media (face book, Instagram etc)
- Hindi through popular religious activities (Ramayan, bhajans, chants etc)
- Hindi-the Guyanese experience
- Hindi- the Surinamese experience
- Hindi-the Guadeloupe experience
- Presentations will follow the “Round Table” discussions.
- OPEN HOUSE discussions
- Action plans for the furtherance of Hindi in Trinidad.
The Symposium is directed to teachers and administrators of Hindi and persons who have a genuine interest in the Hindi language.
Organizations may send two (2) representatives.
