JAMMU: Shiv Sena Parbhari of 10 States Vinay Shulka and State President Dimpy Kohli on Wednesday criticised State Government and Shri Amarnath Shrine Board for curtailing the duration of annual Amarnath Yatra to 40 days from 60 days.
Talking to media persons here at Jammu Shiv Sena ( Balaji Sahib Thackeray) leaders said that Hindus are totally shocked on the unmindful decision of the Government of J&K and SASB to reduce the Yatra period to mere 40 days. He said that this is really strange that when so called nationalists BJP is in seat in the Centre and in the State Yatra period of Annual Amarnath Pilgrimage is reduced to just 40 days which is a big injustice with Hindus.
He said that religious sentiments of Hindus are hurt by this decision of State Government and SASB.
They expressed surprise how the Yatra period was reduced from 90 days to 60 days and later it was further reduced to 48 days. “The latest gift by the BJP-PDP government is unfortunate and unacceptable that the Yatra period has been reduced to just 40 days”, the Shiv Sena leaders said adding that it is a big conspiracy against Hindus who are getting step motherly treatment by the successive central and state governments.
Shiv Sena leaders made a strong demand that Yatra period should be extended to 90 days without any excuse otherwise Shiv Sena will start a state-wide agitation against the Government.
He said that central leadership of Shiv Sena also took a strong note of this decision and cautioned J and K Government and SASB not to reduce Yatra period of Amarnath Yatra at any cost as Shiv Sena will not tolerate any interference on the religious affairs of Hindu community. Rakesh Gupta, Manish Sahni, Radhy Radhy Maharaj, Raj Singh, Vikas Patel and Ramesh Gupta were also present.
