OPINION>>>>

November 10, 2016
Dear Friends,

JAI Hind!

Subject: Impact of Donald Trumps’ Victory.

Donald Trump has triumphed, as predicted by a poll wizard. The English press in Delhi has front –paged the news. Trump won by comfortable majority. It was 279-229. The overall geographical situation will generally change we would try to keep up peace.

We have attempted this quick analysis of this election, based on what we have read in Delhi English dailies for some time. We are certain editorials will appear and expert political commentators will come-up with their expert of opinion or seasoned analysis.

Here we go:

UNO

This ineffectual body will only play the role of an watcher. The Republican victory would be no consequence to it.

US

Many commentators have already said, “The trump victory will be good to India but a disaster for US.

In a manner of showmanship, Trump has recently visited a Hindu temple in the US. He had, during the course of his action speeches, repeatedly said he would drive out the non-American Muslim. Their passport /visa would not be renewed. How far he would be able to get that implemented on the ground is difficult to say. Will that turn out to be a electoral gimmick?

RUSSIA

Russia seems to believe the cold war between Russia and US is a matter of the past. There are news reports that both these supper power have been fighting the ISIS together in the field.

CHINA

No matter who has won, US remains China’s main rival.

INDIA

The Indians generally look forward to a Republican victory, as that party is traditionally known to be pro-Indian.

The incumbent Indian Prime Minister has not opined in favour or against Trump or Clinton. He has maintained an equidistance from both. As a matter of fact, India has treated US as the elder brother in the world politics.

PHIPPENS

Though elected with backing of the US, its President Mark Dueteres has already turned out anti-US President this charge may not matter to him. Much will depend on how the latter deals with him.

PAKISTAN

The Obama government has been taking for the last few months a tough stance against Pakistan and have sternly warned Pakistan that if the letter would not act against all terror groups, they themselves would so. Whether the republican President will do anything against Pakistan can not be forecast. That the Republican party have been traditionally pro-Indian will remain at the back of the mind Pakistan. They might then try to curry favours with the Republican US President.

ISRAEL

Israel and the US are not in the best of relations. The change in the character of the US government may or may not be much interest to Israel.

SOUTHI ARABIA

US have generally been having the best of relations with South Arabia. They have been using South Arabia as their air base for the middle East. That will have to continue this in US interest.

MIDDLE EAST

This will be covered while taking up the Taliban and the ISIS.

TALIBAN

US have been trying to organize peace talk between the Taliban and the Afghan government. The political colour of the US government may not matter to them.

ISIS

The ISIS count US as their greatest enemy. Even though they are not now what they had been, this change in the US Preside ship for a democrat to a Republican interest it might not change their anti-US stand.

Will, Friends, we have given out our immediate inference but we may have to wait for some time more before Trump will react. He has to first answer many charges as leveled against him at home, that is, in the US itself. And, now that the election is over, many more charges are likely to be brought out. The possibility of the election result being dragged to the court of law cannot be ruled out. We are aware of the Americans’ respect of the Federal Court, which is enviable.

So, Friends, let us hold on and be at peace for some time.

Your sevak,
