PANAJI: Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has announced a new chief for its Goa unit as the former chief, after being ousted from RSS, has set up a new RSS Goa prant and declared himself as the chief.
Laxman ‘Nana’ Vaman Behre, 62, will be the RSS Goa vibhag sanghcahalak. Mahesh Dhavalikar, a professor of Goa Engineering College, will be the new secretary for RSS Goa vibhag.
Behre, a resident of Borim, Ponda will replace RSS Goa prant chief Subhash Velingkar who was recently removed as it was perceived that he had crossed the line by embarking upon a confrontation with the BJP government here.
