Nagpur: The City unit of Bajrang Dal led by President of Rajkumar Sharma held a Dharna at Old Morris College T-Point to protest against cow-slaughter on August 1, 2016. Around 300-400 activists of Bajrang Dal assembled at Old Morris College T-Point and raised slogans against the growing incidents of cow slaughter in the city.
While speaking to Nagpur Today, President of Bajrang Dal Rajkumar Sharma said that for the last one and a half years, he has been approaching the Commissioner of Police and informing him about the growing incidents of cow slaughter. He has been requesting the Commissioner of Police to send police force with them when they are going to prevent cow-slaughter or even to apprehend those who are smuggling cows for slaughter.
However, Rajkumar Sharma rues that often the cops are hesitant or refuse escorting them. He alleged that In-Charge of Kalamna Police Station Police Inspector Sunil Bonde and In-Charge of Yashodhara Police Station Police Inspector Mojawar are hand in gloves with those who slaughter cows.
He alleged that he takes his activists to the police station and forcibly deletes the videos taken by them of cow slaughter. On many occasions, the cops harass the activists themselves instead of the culprits.
While addressing the media personnel, City Chief of Vishwa Hindu Parishad Ajay Nindawar alleged that these butchers pay a monthly amount of Rs 50,000/- for turning a blind eye towards their rampant cow slaughter. He went on to allege that He will ask Chief Minister to personally ensure the implementation of the Anti-Cow Slaughter law. He claimed that he would request CM to take severe action against all the erring police officials who refuse or refrain from taking action against those who slaughter cow.
The activists of Bajrang Dal took a small procession to the Temple located nearby where the leaders performed Jalabhishek on the statue of cow there and returned back.
