Vishwa Hindu Parishad of America is excited to share that we have partnered on Gurukulam, a spiritual film set in an ashram in India. The message of the film resonates well with our own and we know you will be moved by it, too. Gurukulam – One Without a Second, opens in over a 100 theaters across the nation and will arrive in a city near you, including in San Francisco, San Jose, Berkeley, Seattle, Irvine, Palm Desert and Chicago. We’d love to have you join us at an upcoming screening. Read on to learn how!
Gurukulam is an experiential cinematic journey into the contemplative life of an Indian ashram and the Vedic roots of non–duality. The Village Voice called Gurukulam, “graceful and respectful, peppered with moments that highlight the human nature of divine contemplation.” The film follows a group of students and their teacher, Swami Dayananda Saraswati, as they confront fundamental questions about the nature of reality and self-identity.
Come experience this enriching film and join us at a premiere screening. You can find a listing of theaters near you and purchase tickets from herewww.gurukulamfilm.com/screenings. If you would like to participate with the film on a deeper level (ie: bring a group and host a discussion), contact the community outreach manager at jennifer@matsonfilms.com or by phone at 213.232.0135.
For those in cities without a theatrical screening, the film has partnered with Tugg, a service that makes it easy for any person or group to bring a screening event to their local theater at no cost. More details can be found here: www.gurukulamfilm.com/host.
Gurukulam is a truly unique film experience – a rare invitation to look, listen, and experience a contemplative rhythm of life as old as the Bhagavad Gita and as new as present-day India.
Thank you for your interest. We look forward to sharing this enlightening film experience with you soon! Please forward this invitation to your individual and chapter lists.
Sincerely,
Abhaya Asthana

Quotes
“Life is nothing but a series of decisions. You have to make decisions in life all the time. And those decisions have to come from a clear mind, not from a confused mind. Therefore, you have to be prayerful so that clear decisions will come to you.” – Swami Dayananda Saraswati
“You cannot will to love because love is not an action, it is something you discover within yourself.” – Swami Dayananda Saraswati
