GUWAHATI, May 20 – Governor PB Acharya has conveyed his message to the people on Buddha Purnima. He said the 2,560th birth anniversary of Lord Buddha will be celebrated tomorrow throughout the world.
“Ahimsa is one of the cardinal virtues and an important tenet of Buddhism and also of Jainism and Hinduism. Ahimsa is a multidimensional concept, inspired by the premise that all living beings have the spark of the divine spiritual energy; therefore, to hurt another being is to hurt oneself,” he said in an official statement.
