‘Hindus being attacked in the name of religion’, says Subramanian Swamy

Mumbai : Religious intolerance is resulting in bad blood between communities and dividing India. Senior BJP leader Subramanian Swamy, who was in Mumbai on Sunday, said ‘intolerance is much more in other countries’.

“FBI immediately calls the private company if it gives a Muslim a job in America, asking for their details,” said Swamy.

“The religious intolerance is not mutual. The Hindus do not have a tradition to be religiously intolerant. We have a long history of thousands of years where we have welcomed people and looked after them. The religious intolerance comes when in the name of religions Hindus are attacked. Now we know very well that ISIS and ISI of Pakistan are all attacking us in the name of Islam. We know that even in our own country there are people who want to break it up in Kashmir, Tamil Nadu, and other places in the name of religion. They say that this is our mandate in our Islam,” he said.

Meanwhile, speaking on black money, Swamy said it would be brought back to India before next general assembly polls.

Swamy has suggested to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to follow a method that Egypt and Libya adopted to bring back black money of Hosni Mubarak and M. Gaddafi respectively. “The Prime Minister has asked me to send him a note for the same and I am about to send that soon, and hope that it would be tabled in Parliament in July to legislate a law,” said Swamy.

Responding to a question, instead of making schools, hospitals, roads and houses for poor, why is he pressing more to build Ram temple, Swamy said, “India has got enough resources and manpower to do both – construct houses and schools.”
