A Hindu outfit has lodged a complaint against the manager and staff of a public sector Bank branch at Tiruvenkadu for allegedly not celebrating the Republic Day in their office.
Police said a case has been registered on a complaint from Hindu Munnani leader Mummurthy and a Community Service Receipt (CSR) issued to him.
CSR is the register maintained in all police stations for a non cognizable offence. An FIR is registered if the offence is cognizable
Police said they have to proceed as per law.
They said it was compulsory to celebrate Republic day and Independence day celebrations in nationalised banks.
