Dear All Namtae, Diwali Greetings.A Hindu scholar and activist from Tamil Nadu, Mr. Arjun Sampath is travelling to Sydney, Adelaide, Perth and Melbourne this month to address the tamil hindu community on various issues and will be rendering a speech on “Pride of Tamil Tradition & Culture in world history”.
As a part of his visit he has been invited by Melbourne Tamil Sangam to address the Tamil Writers Conference on 14th November in Melbourne. As scheduled he is starting his trip from India tomorrow. However to our dismay the organizers of the Melbourne Tamil writers conference have come back to us requesting to withhold this participation owing to vehement protest from certain muslims, atheists and people with leftist beliefs. Owing to this opposition I have been requested by the organiser not to participate in the event as invited. It is quite common and unsurprising to have such opposition for a dedicated social activist and hindu dharma pracharak like Mr. Arjun Sampath.
This last minute withdrawal has put his schedule to toss. Given the situation we intend to make the trip fruitful, purposeful and beneficial to the hindu society. It would be accomplished if you all can extend your possible support by engaging his time in a productive manner through alternate events and activities during his stay in Melbourne associated with his mission. He will be available in Melbourne between 12th November to 16th November (5 days).
