Dear friends,
Though Indo-Pak sports and cultural exchanges had been snapped after the Pakistan-sponsored terrorist attack on Mumbai in November, 2008 which claimed about 200 innocent lives, it is shocking that Ghulam Ali, a Pakistani singer, had been invited to perform in Mumbai and Pune in October, 2015. And after the said functions in Mumbai and Pune have been cancelled because of strong protests from the nationalists, the said singer is being invited to perform in Delhi and Kolkata.
Though self-serving ‘fake-secularists’ and pro-Pakistan lobbyists are in favour of inviting and honouring Pakistanis, such invitations convey the following horrible messages:
1. These invitations justify Pakistan’s frequent terrorist attacks which have killed thousands of innocents in India as per Pakistan’s design to “bleed India through a thousand cuts”.
India has lost countless soldiers and civilians in Pakistan sponsored terrorist attacks. And even now, this terrorism is continuing. In this background, it is shameful for any Indian to invite any Pakistani singer for any function.
2. These invitations imply that the sentiments of families of countless innocents and martyrs who sacrificed their lives in Pakistan-sponsored terrorist attacks upon India do not matter.
3. These invitations justify Pakistan sponsored genocide of Kashmiri Hindus and their eviction from Kashmir.
4. These invitations condone infiltration of crores of Pakistani / Bangladeshi nationals into India.
5. These invitations justify the cleansing of Hindu population in Pakistan from 24 per cent during India’s partition in 1947 to less than two per cent in 2015.
Accordingly, considering the paramount national interests, it is submitted that such invitations should wait till Pakistan stops exporting terrorism; and gives up its design to “bleed India through a thousand cuts”.
